Why I Created CERANÉU - and Why Your Skin Has Been Waiting for It

I want to tell you a story about a problem I kept seeing over and over again.

Customers would come to me with different concerns - some wanted to address aging, some wanted to calm redness, some were recovering from a procedure, some just felt like their skin was perpetually tired and unhappy no matter what they used. And as I dug deeper into what was actually going on with their skin, I kept arriving at the same root cause.

A damaged, depleted skin barrier.

It's the thing nobody talks about enough. Everyone wants to treat the symptoms - the dryness, the redness, the dullness, the fine lines - without addressing what's actually underneath all of them. And I became a little obsessed with the idea of creating something that would go straight to the source.

That obsession became CERANÉU.

What Your Skin Barrier Actually Is (and Why It Matters More Than You Think)

Think of your skin barrier as a brick wall. The skin cells are the bricks, and the lipids - ceramides, cholesterol, fatty acids - are the mortar holding everything together. When that wall is intact, your skin holds moisture in, keeps irritants out, looks calm, feels comfortable, and behaves itself.

When the wall has gaps? Everything falls apart. Moisture escapes. Irritants get in. Skin becomes reactive, dry, inflamed, dull. Fine lines look deeper. Redness lingers. And no amount of moisturizer fixes it, because you're essentially trying to hydrate a leaky bucket.

Most of us have more barrier damage than we realize - from over-exfoliating, from harsh cleansers, from stress, from environmental exposure, from simply getting older. The good news is that a compromised barrier can be repaired. You just need the right ingredients, working together, in the right way.

That's exactly what I set out to formulate.

The Ingredients - and Why I Chose Every Single One

I want to walk you through the key players in CERANÉU, because I think when you understand what each ingredient is doing, the formula starts to feel less like a cream and more like a carefully orchestrated repair system.

copper peptide

GHK-Cu (Copper Tripeptide-1) - The Star of the Formula

This is the ingredient I'm most excited about, and the one that gives CERANÉU its signature soft blue color. GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring copper peptide that has been studied extensively for its skin-regenerating properties. It supports collagen renewal, helps improve firmness and elasticity, and plays a direct role in strengthening the skin barrier.

What I love about it most is how it works in harmony with the skin rather than forcing a reaction. It's not aggressive. It's intelligent. It signals the skin to repair itself - and the skin responds.

ceramides

Ceramide Complex (NP, AP, EOP + Phytosphingosine + Cholesterol)

If GHK-Cu is the renovation contractor, ceramides are the building materials. I used three distinct ceramide types alongside phytosphingosine and cholesterol because that's how the skin's own lipid matrix is structured. You can't just throw one type of ceramide at a damaged barrier and call it done. You need the full spectrum working together to actually rebuild.

This is the mortar that fills the gaps in that brick wall.

4-Molecular-Weight Hyaluronic Acid

Most products use one form of hyaluronic acid. CERANÉU uses four - Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, and Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate. Each one has a different molecular size, which means each one hydrates at a different skin depth. The result is hydration that isn't just sitting on the surface, it's reaching deep into the skin's layers and staying there. Plump, cushioned, lasting moisture from the inside out.

Collagen Peptide

Collagen peptides support the skin's structural foundation - firmness, elasticity, smoothness. As we age, collagen production slows naturally, and the skin starts to lose its bounce. These peptides don't replace collagen directly, but they signal the skin to produce more of its own. Think of them as a gentle, persistent reminder to keep building.

Niacinamide

Niacinamide is one of those ingredients I put in almost everything, and for good reason. It's a multitasker that earns its place in every formula. It brightens uneven tone, reduces redness, strengthens the barrier, regulates oil production, and has real anti-inflammatory properties. For anyone dealing with redness, sensitivity, or post-procedure recovery, niacinamide is not optional - it's essential.

Who This Cream Is For

I formulated CERANÉU to be genuinely versatile, but there are certain people I had in my mind throughout the entire development process.

  • Sensitive, reactive, or rosacea-prone skin that needs calming support.
  • Skin recovering from a procedure - microneedling, laser, peels, anything that disrupts the barrier.
  • Dry, dehydrated skin that feels tight or uncomfortable no matter what.
  • Mature skin that needs more than a standard moisturizer can offer.

It's the kind of cream that makes your skin exhale.

The Part I Didn't Expect to Love as Much as I Do

While working on this product, we asked quite a few of our loyal customers to test a sample and give us their honest feedback. (This happens on our private FB page). While everyone loved the texture, feel and performance, original jasmine scent was favored about 50/50. So we had to change it. After experimenting with a few others, we landed on Lavender and Plum.

The scent that came out of that combination surprised me. It's soft, floral, a little fruity - genuinely spa-like without being heavy. One of our customers described using it as "a luxurious touch to my skincare routine." Another said it smells heavenly. I agree. It's the kind of scent that makes you look forward to your skincare routine at the end of a long day. And I believe that scents, like nothing else can add to the experience, evoke feelings and memories.

Clean ingredients should feel good too. That was always part of the intention.

How to Use CERANÉU

Morning and evening, after cleansing. It layers beautifully under SPF in the morning and works deeply overnight as your skin repairs itself. If you're using active treatments like retinol or acids, CERANÉU is an ideal partner - it supports and cushions the barrier while the actives do their work.

A little goes a long way. The texture is lightweight - it melts in without heaviness, which makes it suitable even for Florida summers.
