Q & A
Q: What is Bakuchiol?
A: Bakuchiol derived from the psoralea corylifolia plant, aka the "babchi" plant, which is also present in our formulation. The plant has a long and impressive skin-care resume, starting with its use in traditional ayurvedic medicine. It is the first natural alternative to Retinol without having any of the negatives associated with the conventional Retinol.
Q: Is Bakuchiol better than Retinol?
A: Bakuchiol is proven to have a similar gene expression regulation as Retinol. Both boost collagen and elastin production and reduce photo aging, fine lines and wrinkles. Unlike Retinol, Bakuchiol has no harsh side effects on the skin and is a much gentler alternative.
Q: Can Bakuchiol be used every day?
A: Yes. It’s safe to use twice a day: since Bakuchiol isn't as drying or irritating as Retinol, you can use it both during your morning and nighttime skincare routines. Suitable for all skin types: being gentle on skin, almost anyone can use Bakuchiol containing products.
Q: Does Bakuchiol cause sun sensitivity?
A: Bakuchiol doesn't increase skin's sensitivity to sunlight but as always, follow up with sunscreen in the morning.
Q: Is Bakuchiol an antioxidant?
A: Bakuchiol is a powerful antioxidant that helps improve the appearance of fine lines, pigmentation, skin texture and overall firmness of the skin.
Q: Can I use this product if I am pregnant?
A: Yes. Unlike Retinol, using products with Bakuchiol is safe.
